Mobile, AL -- MINOLTA-QMS, Inc., the price/performance leader in color laser printing, has added low-cost, large-format printing to its color line with the magicolor 7300 EN. Featuring page sizes up to 12.25" x 18", true-to-life photo quality output, 20 ppm print speed, and a price of only $3,199 (est. Street), the magicolor 7300 is engineered to provide the best price/performance value in its class.
The addition of the magicolor 7300 further completes the MINOLTA-QMS color laser printer family, which offers consumers everything from personal and small office to design and production-class products.
We had specific design goals in mind when developing the magicolor 7300," said Stephen Fletcher, president and COO for MINOLTA-QMS. "We aimed to provide the high quality and diverse media support necessary for design and publishing, fast speeds for higher-volume applications, and, in what has become a MINOLTA-QMS standard, a price point that's best in class."
True Value
With a price that's hundreds less than many competing products, the magicolor 7300 is a purchase that's easy to justify. For $3,199, the value package includes exceptional quality, high print speeds, and a reliable, versatile product. Moreover, the magicolor 7300's cost per page is very compelling at just 9.62 cents/page in color and 1.95 cents/page in black & white (based on consumable list price; 20% color coverage, 5% black coverage of a letter-size page).
Excellent Quality
Using Photo ART technology, the magicolor 7300 is able to achieve 9600 x 600 dpi-class output (a multi-bit 600 x 600 dpi resolution) for exceptional, continuous-tone quality--a must-have feature in design and publishing applications. The result is best seen in scanned images and graduations, which appear much more natural than conventional halftones. Its polymer-based toner also works to improve output quality. Composed of smaller particles that are uniform in size and shape, it allows the printer to generate finer lines, better halftones, and photorealistic image quality.
Additionally, MINOLTA-QMS provides internal automatic color calibration software (eAIDC or enhanced Automatic Image Density Control) that ensures color stability print after print, day after day. Advanced users have the opportunity to further control color output by downloading personalized ICC profiles, using available press simulations, or selecting other color support options.
The Complete Package
While price and quality are stand-out features of the magicolor 7300, it has much more to offer. As the fastest in the magicolor series, it can well serve busy workgroups and provide higher-volume printing with speeds of up to 20 letter or 11 ledger ppm in black & white and color. It includes a standard 10/100BaseTX Ethernet interface, as well as Windows 'Plug and Play' USB 1.1 and parallel connections. It's outfitted with 128 MB RAM (expandable to 512 MB) and supports an internal hard disk for font and form storage, direct PDF printing, collation, and job accounting activities. The printer supports Macintosh, Windows, and Linux platforms and is PostScript(R) 3 compatible.
The magicolor 7300 includes two paper input sources--a 500-sheet Standard cassette that accepts media up to 11" x 17" and a 250-sheet Universal cassette with 12.25" x 18" support for creating full-bleed designs complete with crop marks. The Universal cassette provides added versatility handling heavier paper stock (up to 110 lb. Index), as well as transparencies, envelopes, and sheet labels. If additional input is needed, the magicolor 7300 can be equipped with up to 1,750 sheets by adding two 500-sheet Lower Paper Feeders.
For creative teams producing brochures, newsletters, and other full-color, two-sided pieces, an optional automatic duplexer is available. It includes a single-sheet manual feed tray that accepts banner-size paper up to 11.69" x 35.43" in size.
The magicolor 7300 ships with a one-year on-site warranty and a complete set of supplies, including cyan, magenta, yellow, and black toner cartridges and print units (OPC drum units), two waste toner receptacles, and a fusing unit.
