Any printer can produce reliable document printing; inkjet color printing is another story. The Hewlett Packard PhotoSmart 1115 Inkjet delivers high quality color print-outs from your digital camera. Not only can this printer function without a computer, the Hewlett Packard PhotoSmart will print directly from your digital camera using CompactFlash or SmartMedia memory cards. Printing text will go extraordinarily fast, though picture printouts may be slow, and this printer will not take Sony memory cards. Picture resolution is above average, though as with most color printing, ink cartridges can be drained quickly. The HP PhotoSmart is Mac and PC compatible, comes with additional software like Arcsoft Photo, and connects through USB. On the negative side, this printer only works best with HP’s own brand of printer paper, and replacing the ink cartridges can get expensive.
