COST: $200 The HP OfficeJet V40xi Inkjet Printer is best meant for novices with basic printing needs. This is not to be taken as an insult; this printer is a reliable, low maintenance printer that is versatile, easy to use, and comes with plenty of added features. Most importantly, as a multi-function printer, this machine performs all of its functions extremely well. It prints at a maximum resolution of 2400 x 1200 DPI in color, and scans at a maximum resolution of 1200 x 600 DPI with 36-color bit processing. This printer’s copy mode has options like the ability to enlarge or shrink text, and its fax mode has a 50 page memory. The HP OfficeJet V40xi Inkjet Printer is also compact, and its ink cartridges shouldn’t set you back too much money. The downside to all of this? This printer is big, slow, and is probably not meant for heavy duty printing. It also doesn’t come with additional software, and cannot print in large format. For those who thrive on their printer’s technological diversity, this printer is not for you. Otherwise, the HP OfficeJet V40xi Inkjet Printer is a sound purchase.
